It Is Written Oceania director-cameraman Mal Hamilton was honoured for his cinematography on Faith of the Anzacs.
With Australian cinematographers extremely highly regarded throughout the world for their skills and creativity, an Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS) award is a very prestigious and a highly competitive event.
The Adventist Media Network not only cherishes creativity but also professional excellence and that’s why we’re delighted with this award
That’s why the Adventist Media Network was delighted when director-cinematographer, Mal Hamilton, was recognised for his outstanding cinematography at the New South Wales ACS awards.
The now multi-awarded Faith of the Anzacs episode filmed on location at Gallipoli, for It Is Written Oceania, was judged in a highly competitive category—Cinema and Television Documentaries. Other serious contenders came from ABC programs “Four Corners” and “Australian Story”.

“The Adventist Media Network not only cherishes creativity but also professional excellence and that’s why we’re delighted with this award,” said Mr Neale Schofield, chief executive officer of the Adventist Media Network in Sydney.
Mr Hamilton’s achievement is more notable as he usually has to work within tight budget constraints as well as in very difficult locations without any production personnel. In most television productions the crew normally includes a producer, camera assistant, a sound recordist and often a lighting technician.
Mr Hamilton not only performs these extra production roles while filming—he also has the added responsibility of directing the actors or speaker Pastor Gary Kent at the same time.
It’s because of the professionalism and passion of Mr Hamilton and the very small band of the loyal and dedicated visual post-production and management team at Adventist Media Network, that It Is Written Oceania is able to produce television programs of outstanding quality and consistency, week after week.
To be acknowledged in such esteemed company—with its productions being funded entirely through the generosity of its supporters—clearly shows It Is Written Oceania is spreading the everlasting gospel very effectively and efficiently.
Mr Hamilton also acknowledges the assistance given by volunteers in the It Is Written Oceania overseas productions.
