Upon learning of Sanitarium’s gift, Foodbank CEO John Webster said, “What can I say but THANK YOU !! – your generosity will make such a difference to so many families facing extreme hardship now and who will soon face the daunting task of putting their lives back together as they clean up the devastating mess when the waters recede – this will enable us to help them face these challenges”.

Australians have rallied to help families facing hardship from the floods. The Queensland Premier’s Flood Relief Appeal had raised about $30 million by Sunday night. The appeal was supported by the Victoria and NSW state governments with $1 million each in donations. Families and businesses supported the Appeal with $10,278,552 pledges through Channel Nine’s live telethon appeal.
