Adventists mobilise locals for Christmas

According to the “Victor Harbor Times”, Adventists living on the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia have bundled up hundreds of Christmas hampers for needy families.

“Many families living in this area are doing it really tough,” says Pastor Dave Hamilton—Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Director in South Australia.

ADRA teamed up with the Commonwealth Bank and other local businesses, including Veg Out, to make the hampers possible. The Christmas hampers will provide local families with fresh fruit and vegetables as well as non perishable foods.

HELPING FAMILIES: Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) representatives Margaret Clarke and Lynelle Packer, Stewart Smith from Commonwealth Bank Victor Harbor and Frank Vizzari from Veg Out. The Commonwealth Bank supported ADRA with a donation that will help Fleurieu Families with hampers put together by ADRA.

Branch manager Stewart Smith said Commonwealth Bank plays an important role in the local community and was keen for the team to get involved in a local initiative that gave something back at a time when many are less fortunate.
